Baylor had to use 5 different QBs in one game ... and still broke bowl records vs. No. 10 UNC

The Bears were without their top two quarterbacks and top two weapons, which makes this one of the most impressive offensive performances in bowl season history.

Remember how Ohio State overcame two quarterback injuries last year? No. 17 Baylor had to deal with about double that along the way to its fourth 10-win season in five years, capping with a 49-38 win over No. 10 North Carolina in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

The Bears broke the bowl's rushing record ... in the first half, with 358. They put up the most rushing yards an Art Briles team ever had ... in the first half. (That's saying something. Despite the popular assumption, Baylor runs all the time. The Bears ranked No. 4 in the country in rushing attempts per game before this one.)
The final total before kneeldowns: 756 yards, 645 of them on the ground, an all-time rushing record for any bowl (524 by Nebraska in the 1996 Fiesta). Johnny Jefferson led with 299 rushing yards on 23 carries and three touchdowns, also throwing for 24.

Yeezy Boost 350

The "Tan" adidas Yeezy Boosts 350s Are Already Listed at $1,250 on Stadium Goods

At this point, you're probably starting to come to terms with the fact you missed out on the "Tan" Yeezy Boost 350s, but if for some reason you still can't accept the L and absolutely must have a pair, you'll need to be ready to drop some serious cash on the resell market.

And by 'serious cash,' we're talking a minimum of $1,250. That's the lowest price you'll find the "Tan" 350s for at Stadium Goods, the NYC-based resell store that's been steadily making headlines ever since its opening back in October.
It's a hefty price to say the least, but judging from previous Yeezy Boost releases, it's only going to go up from here, so now might actually be the best time to make a move. If you need a pair, they're available right here.

Earthquake Today

Magnitude 4.3 earthquake felt in Vancouver

A modest magnitude 4.3 earthquake was felt in Metro Vancouver late this evening at 11:40 p.m.
According to the federal government’s Natural Resources Canada department, the earthquake had a deep depth of 58.7 kilometres and an epicentre 19 kilometres northeast of Victoria and eight kilometres east-southeast of Sidney – right under the Strait of Georgia. It was also felt strongly on Vancouver Island and elsewhere on the B.C. South Coast.
The seismic event was originally classified as a magnitude 4.9 event by the U.S. Geological Survey, but it was downgraded shortly after.
There are no reports of any significant damage at this time. As well, no tsunami alert has been issued – a tsunami is not expected given the magnitude and location.
SkyTrain’s Expo and Millennium lines were shut down for approximately an hour as a safety precaution to ensure the elevated guideways were not damaged by the tremors.
This is the second moderate earthquake to strike the North American West Coast on Tuesday. At 5:48 p.m., a magnitude 4.4 earthquake was centred four kilometres outside of Devore, California – about 48 kilometres east of Los Angeles. There have been a number of smaller aftershocks since the initial event.

Mark Salling

The fall of Mark Salling, ‘Glee’ star and Christian songster, arrested on child porn charges,0,214,317_AL_.jpg

It should be said right away: Mark Salling, the former “Glee” cast member arrested on child pornography charges in Los Angeles on Tuesday, has not been convicted of a crime. That, however, did not prevent legions on social media from dissecting the 33-year-old’s career as though it were little more than a fresh corpse just arrived at the morgue.

“So sick of celebrities abusing their position as people who can influence the younger generation,” one Twitter user wrote. “The news about Mark Salling is sickening.” Another: “Disappointed to hear about the allegations against Mark Salling. I hope those who were victimized find closure.”

Chip Kelly

More details emerge as to why Chip Kelly was fired by the Eagles

There are a number of reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles fired Chip Kelly on Tuesday evening. One of them reportedly had to do with his refusal to relinquish personnel power. Another one involved him losing the support of his players. But it's not just the players who stopped supporting Kelly, according to multiple reports. The former Eagles coach lost support in entire organization

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has even more details on Kelly's downfall:
So what else went wrong? Well, Kelly was losing people throughout the building, sources said, even outside of football operations. His autocratic tendencies got the best of him. His allies were few and far between. The idea that DeMarco Murray somehow led this charge is preposterous, I'm told, but in fact Lurie had begun having serious reservations a few weeks ago, when he began reaching out to confidants about how to proceed and began doing research on the pool of potential candidates elsewhere. He started to doubt whether Kelly The Innovative Coach was quite smart enough to overcome Kelly The Personnel Demagogue. Everything having to be Kelly's way -- moving events around to fit his schedule, things having to accommodate him -- grew troublesome.

New Details Emerge About 'Affluenza' Teen's Time in Mexico!/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_620/image.jpg

New details are emerging about the time Ethan Couch -- a teen who killed four people in a car crash in 2013 -- spent in Mexico on the run with his mother while U.S. authorities searched for him.
Couch and his mother, Tonya, stayed at an apartment in Puerto Vallarta, a resort town frequented by American tourists, and visited a restaurant and butcher shop nearby, locals told ABC News. Law enforcement sources confirm to ABC News that the Couches managed to elude authorities for a time by using at least one throw away phone.
In 2013 Couch pled guilty to four counts of intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years probation instead of jail time. In the sentencing phase his defense team had argued that he suffered from “affluenza,” meaning, they explained, that his affluent upbringing and his mother and father’s profoundly dysfunctional parenting led to his irresponsible behavior.

Caitlyn Jenner

Who Is Google’s Most Searched Celebrity of the Year?

This morning, Google released its annual Year in Search list and, predictably, the top trending people of 2015 were also subjects of the year’s biggest controversies. Rachel Dolezal went from being an unknown woman in Spokane, Washington, to the focus of several national debates on cultural appropriation. Newsman Brian Williams became the story after several accounts of his questionable reporting history were revealed. Charlie Sheen, who had kept a low profile these last few years, had his personal life subjected to intense scrutiny after he revealed his HIV-positive status on the Today show. Donald Trump’s increasingly disturbing presidential campaign also secured him a spot on the list.

Of course, the Kardashians, America’s most famous family, continued their dominance over our national headlines—so much so that earlier this year, a British man even created an app that blocks all mentions of them from your news feed. This year, however, it wasn’t Kim who broke the Internet: The introduction of Caitlyn Jenner in June became the focus of our intense fascination, while Lamar Odom sadly took the top spot because of his continued battle with addiction.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara Celebrates Husband Joe Manganiello's 39th Birthday With Chocolate Cake

Happy birthday, Joe!

Joe Manganiello celebrated his 39th birthday on Monday, December 28 — and new wife Sofía Vergara made sure it was a night to remember.
Sharing a snap of the couple's intimate celebrations, Vergara looked stunning as she posed with her handsome husband alongside a chocolate cake dessert with a birthday candle ready to be blown out.
Earlier in the day, Vergara, 43, sent her love a birthday message via Instagram, which consisted of a picture of the pair of them on their wedding day back in November, complete with an adorable message: "Happy bday to the husband I always dreamed of," complete with three heart emojis.
Appreciating the sentiment, birthday boy Manganiello replied to his wife's note with a simple "Te amo!"
The festive period has been a special time for the couple, who started dating back in 2014 and became engaged on Christmas day a year ago.
Their lavish wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, on November 22 was a dream come true for the Modern Family star.
"My son, Manolo, was very excited to give me away," Vergara told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month. "It was like a fairy tale. It came out perfectly how I wanted it, I have to say."

"Still Seeing Each Other"

Khloe Kardashian and James Harden Are "Still Seeing Each Other"

2015's breakup bug hasn't hit Khloe Kardashian and James Harden.
OK! magazine released a report claiming the Houston Rockets basketball player broke up with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star on Christmas, but E! News can exclusively confirm that it's absolutely not true.
An inside source tells us that the couple is "still seeing each other," and Khloe actually happens to be in Houston today to be with him as his team faces off against the Atlanta Hawks tonight. After visiting Lamar Odom in the hospital after the holiday, Khloe decided to travel to Houston to spend time with her boyfriend. But she didn't leave Lamar alone.
"Khloe flew Lamar's kids out to L.A. so they can spend time with him, and Khloe came to Houston for a few days while his kids are in LA with him," the insider adds.
Lamar is dad to 13-year-old Lamar Jr. and 17-year-old Destiny with ex Liza Morales. They also flew to be by their dad's side when he was first hospitalized in Las Vegas.

Auburn NFL roundup

Auburn NFL roundup: More history for Cam Newton, but not for Carolina Panthers

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton reached another NFL first on Sunday, but it didn't prevent the Panthers from losing for the first time this season. The Atlanta Falcons' 20-13 victory prevented Carolina from becoming the third team in NFL history to have a 15-0 record.
The Falcons also ended the Panthers' 18-game regular-season winning streak, the third-longest in NFL history, which included a 38-0 win over Atlanta just two weeks ago.
The loss broke Newton's nine-game winning streak in December. Before Sunday, Carolina hadn't lost a game started by Newton in the 12th month since a 31-13 setback against the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 8, 2013.
Newton fumbled when he was sacked on Carolina's final snap of the game, allowing Atlanta to run out the final 62 seconds of their victory.

We witnessed that tonight when the wrong winner was initially announced. Our sincerest apologies to Miss Universe Colombia 2015, Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo, Miss Universe Philippines 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, their families and fans. Kardashian Christmas Card Features North, Penelope, Mason and Reign

Kim Kardashian cut it a little fine, but the reality TV star has finally revealed her family’s 2015 Christmas card, which features four of the family’s youngest members - and none of the adults.
The simple card features Kim and Kanye West’s daughter North, sat alongside her cousins Mason, Penelope and Reign.
Say what you like about the Kardashians, but this an undeniably adorable effort.
Sadly, the latest addition to the family, baby Saint, is missing, and there’s no word yet on when we’ll get our first glimpse of the newborn.
Kim posted the picture on her social media channels with the caption, “All You Need Is Love”, while Kourtney shared a slightly lengthier post on her website.
“Our yearly Christmas card photo usually has our entire family in it,” she wrote. “This year, we needed some extra joy, so we figured that a photo of ALL kids was the most joyful card there is! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!”
The annual cards were formerly a Kardashian Khristmas institution, however in 2014, amidst rumours about Caitlyn Jenner’s private life and Rob Kardashian’s ongoing private battles, the family opted not to share a festive snap.

Tina Fey.

Tina Fey Admits She Was a 'Mean Girl' in High School

No wonder Tina Fey penned the big screen comedy "Mean Girls." The actress recently admitted she was the mean girl back in high school, perhaps giving her tons to pull from to write the 2004 hit film.

"I was, I admit it openly," she told Net-a-Porter's The Edit. "That was a disease that had to be conquered."
Tina Fey Says No to 'Mean Girls' Sequel
Amy Poehler Marvels at Her Walk of Fame Star
Fey, 45, said that later on in life she realized why she became a bully.
"It's another coping mechanism," she said. "It's a bad coping mechanism, but when you feel less than ... in your mind it's a way of leveling the playing field. Though of course it's not. Saying something terrible about someone else does not actually level the playing field.
"If I meet a girl of 14 or 15 today who is that kind of girl, I am secretly, in my body, afraid. Even though I'm 45," she quipped.
Being mean wasn't Fey's only coping mechanism. The actress said she also used comedy as a way to cope with her personal issues.
"For me it was about hitting age 13 and realizing, 'OK, I'm not going to glide by on looks. I'm a normal-looking person, but that's not going to be where my bread is buttered.' The desire to be funny -- because you are never actually quite sure if you really are funny -– is a coping mechanism, another way of ingratiating yourself," she said.
It's a good thing Fey used comedy to cope, especially since she relied heavily on those skills to craft knee-slapping funny moments in her latest film, "Sisters." She portrays the onscreen sister to fellow comedienne, Amy Poehler, in the film, which follows the two as they travel back to their childhood home. Although the sisters are supposed to be cleaning out their shared bedroom after the home sells to a new family, instead they throw one last epic party.
Fey couldn't help but gush about her friend and co-star.
"Amy is very warm, a great person to have on your team in any capacity," she said. "We work together best -- on 'Sisters,' or presenting the Golden Globes -- by doing our own thing next to each other. I do wonder, if we tried to do five years on a series together, if it would be like, 'Wait a minute, which one of us is the boss?' Because, truthfully, I think we are two Alphas."
The film also stars Fey's fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum Maya Rudolph and Bobby Moynihan along with wrestler John Cena.

Ginger isn't just for cookies this time of year—it can also prevent you from packing on pounds, says new research from the European Journal of Nutrition. Researchers found that women who consumed dried ginger daily for 12 weeks significantly lowered their body mass indexes, compared with a placebo group. For that, credit ginger's ability to reduce insulin, the body's fat-storing hormone. Previous studies showed ginger also curbs hunger. Both fresh and dried varieties will do the trick, but for max flavor, fresh is best.

Daisy Ridley, a star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, says she’s been compared to Keira Knightley her whole life. But, she says, she’s not wild about it.
“This is the one thing that I’m actually so ‘ugh’ about,” the 23-year-old says. “But it’s like, ‘Why do I have to be like someone else?’ People have always said that I look like Keira Knightley. But it is actually really frustrating.”
“It’s a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike,” Zooey Deschanel told MTV in 2009 about the comparisons between Katy Perry and herself. “I have met her before. She seems like a nice person. I’m happy that she’s famous enough now that she’s not going out and being mistaken for me.”

Those children are of great concern to Sarah Paulson, who shared a second message via Twitter, urging all to donate to a GoFundMe page set up in Siggins’ honor to benefit her kids.

Elite: Scott Weiland Shares His Troubled Past in Archival Interviews

Elite: Scott Weiland Shares His Troubled Past in Archival Interviews

Usually when rock stars die, their fans are deeply saddened. That’s certainly the case for former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland, who died Thursday in his sleep in Bloomington, Minnesota, while on tour with his latest band, Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts. But while those who followed Weiland are heartbroken, they’re not necessarily surprised.
The talented artist reportedly died of a heart attack, but he had a long history of depression and addiction, along with the volatile behavior that often accompanies such conditions. He was kicked out of Stone Temple Pilots for the final time in February 2013 for being late to shows and exhibiting a lack of interest, and he was let go from Guns N’ Roses-associated supergroup Velvet Revolver in 2008 due to personality conflicts.
However, for all his flaws, Weiland was a gifted songwriter and a charismatic frontman. His raspy voice fell into the realm of the “Seattle sound,” but he was just as interested in classic rock artists like the Beatles, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd, and his sinewy stage moves and flashy sense of style were always captivating.
Weiland was plagued by demons, bounced in and out of rehab, and abused heroin – he said – on and off until 2004. His last criminal wrangle with drug abuse came in 2007, when he crashed his car in Los Angeles and was charged with being “under the influence of a drug.” Yet both before, during, and after his battles with drugs, Weiland created some great post-grunge and alternative rock records. He played on six well-received albums with Stone Temple Pilots and two discs with Velvet Revolver, and he was prolific as a solo artist, releasing four eclectic studio records, including one with the Wildabouts, Blaster, just this past February.

Curry honours father, vintage game for Bryant

Los Angeles (AFP) - Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry honoured his father with an explosive third quarter performance and Kobe Bryant took his farewell tour up another notch in a pair of key NBA contests.
Curry watched at halftime as his father and former Charlotte star Dell Curry was featured in a half-time ceremony then followed up with a 28-point third quarter as the Golden State Warriors easily defeated the Hornets 116-99.Bryant, who announced three days ago he was retiring at the end of the regular season, rattled in the go-ahead jump shot with 30 seconds left in the fourth en route to a 108-104 win over the Washington Wizards.Golden State's victory extends the Warriors best start in NBA history to 20-0. Curry dominated in the key third quarter and had Golden State in such complete control that he sat down for the fourth quarter"It was special," he said of the ceremony for his father, who is the franchise's all-time scoring leader. "I got to come out and see my dad's halftime ceremony and hear his speech. I might have got a little inspiration from that."This was a homecoming for Stephen Curry who grew up in Charlotte and played high school and college ball there. He finished 14-of-18 from the field and eight-of-11 from three-point range.
He had just 12 points at halftime, and then erupted for 28 third-quarter points, including the Warriors' last 24 over the final 4:55 of the period. He hit four three-pointers in the final 1:53 of the third and finished with a game-high 40 points on the night.
"I am just playing with confidence," he said. "I feel like I am a better player than I was last year. I am just staying in the moment. There is a lot to be said about being 20-0 but we aren't satisfied."
The 20-0 start for the Warriors is the longest streak to open a season in NBA history."It is surprising to me because the league has been around a very long time and nobody has done what we are doing. We are proud of it," Curry said.
Golden State roared to a 28-13 lead halfway through the first quarter then stretched it to 26 in the second half.
The Warriors also got 21 points from guard Klay Thompson, including 15 in the first quarter.
- Season-high performance -
Bryant's field goal from 16 feet capped a season-high 31-point performance and helped snap the Lakers' seven game losing skid.
"It has been a long season to say the least. It felt good to get one," Bryant said. The 37-year-old Bryant scored 18 points in the first half and 12 in the fourth quarter for the Lakers.
Washington served as the second stop on his farewell tour. For much of this season, it appeared the five-time NBA champion's shooting touch had disappeared. It was like a giant hand reached up and turned back the clock Wednesday on the 20-year veteran who showed off some vintage moves including pull-up jumpers and fadeaway field goals with the sell-out Washington crowd of 20,300 applauding him."It is surreal," he said of the cheering on the road. "To get this respect is amazing."Bryant entered his lone appearance in Washington shooting 30.1 percent from the field. He finished 10-of-24 against the Wizards including four-of-11 from beyond the arc.But most importantly for Bryant he still had something left in the tank in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.
"I feel really good right now," he said. "I have pushed it hard in training."What I try to do is stay loose during the game and move as much possible so I don't stiffen up."
